Issue Summary
Hi Deciphered and many thanks for this module, especially making it work with the Insert module.
Dunno if its possible, but it would be real nice if the was some form of live preview area, between the editor field and the save button, possibility when editing a custom formatter. Right now each formatter has to be saved and tested using a content type to make sure it works, right?

Your idea is a good one, but probably not an easy one, which makes me want to do it even more :)
Don't expect anything in the short term, but I will look into it and see what I can do.

I did get a chance to make a decent start on this, at this stage I have preview working for the 'filefield' field type in the basic editor, with a requirement of the 'devel_generate' module.
Will likely push out a development release in the next day or so.

Great news Stuart. If I may be bold and suggest that to complete this new feature you also add an option to enable/disable the formatters? Basically a disabled formatter will not be visible in any other place than in the Custom Formatters editor.

Preview functionality committed to DRUPAL-6--1, development build should be out within the next 8 hours.
I didn't put an status toggle for the Custom Formatters at this stage, but if I see the need I may do so at another time.
Have a play with the functionality and let me know how it goes.
