I copied the D7 alpha1 release into a sub-domain of my website and started the installation process. After getting to where a Mysql DB had to be created went to cPanel and successfully created one, confirming the db name, userid and pw on the shell.

Entering this information on the installer, fails to connect to Mysql is reported back to me with the msg that the installer can't proceed until this is corrected. Screenshot attached, at a loss as to how to proceed - I've done a number of these with with production releases but realize this is still probably some deficit on my end.

I wanted to double check my error report so I deleted the d7 alpha from the sub-domain and put in the d6.15 distribution instead. Went through the installer using the same database and db user and the site is up and running.

There was one unusual part to the install - at the point where the installer was ready to display the progress bar it hung. I hit refresh after a couple minutes and it did its thing apparently just fine. The website is at http://d7a1.eat-this.com/.

FWIW I just successfully installed the D7 alpha on my XAMPP box - the website I have the problem with is Linux.
