Hi there,
I really would like to use this module in a production-site, as this solution the module provides for pingbacks fits my needs more than that of the trackback-module. As the last release of this module lies back quite a long time now (soon two years!) and the many not yet fixed issues (some quite critical in my eyes...) in the queue, I would like to ask the current maintainer if this module is still under active development resp. still being maintained?

I have also been using this module, it is very good and fits my requirements very well. It is true that the latest official release is March 2008, but patches and fixes have been applied since then. My last patch was committed by andreashaugstrup http://drupal.org/user/83346 in March 2009. This may well have been the last commit because the status says '42 weeks ago'.

There are not very many bugs raised, the module is generally working well, but you are allowed to ask the question re maintainership, just to check.

This module is maintained, bugfixes are committed when they are ready and the module will be ported to D7 when time comes. If you have concerns regarding individual bugs feel free to review patches, provide more imformation to help track down problems or create patches.
