Searching by Zip code does not work.

Good morning,

First, I marked this issue as critical because I have been working on it for a couple of days now and have seen a couple of places that claim that proximity searching in Drupal 6.x is "broken" and does not function. IF this is true I need to know this so I can start looking for another solution. IF not, I am in desperate need of help on my project.

I currently have my a view set up similarly to what is found here: http://drupal.org/node/359463 , though I have added an exposed filter for "zip code" ( I would also like to add an additional field that will allow me to further filter results by taxonomy term, but that can be done later ).

When typing in the zip code "44305" there should be one result avail ( the only result ATM ), but instead no results are returned.

If necessary I can give you access to my site and will work with whomever has any idea what might be going on.
