hi users are not able to use the '.in' domain extension based mail ids to register as drupal does not recognize it as a valid mail id; for example sumank@some_domain.in won't work.

Have you noticed this on drupal.org, or on a different Drupal site? What is the domain you were trying to use? Did it have any special characters in it?

I've tried creating an account on my local Drupal install with a made up .in address and it worked fine...
