Drupal and ASP.NET e-commerce integration

My client has a custom-built ASP.NET e-commerce website. She is migrating to Drupal but wants to keep her existing e-commerce/shopping cart apps. Here are my questions:

1. What are the best options to integrate Drupal with her existing ASP.NET e-commerce platform?

2. What are the integration challenges?

I read about the Services module, but would like to hear from someone who has direct experience with this type of integration.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The answer will depend on if and how the ASP.net application exposes its functionality, given its custom nature there is no way to suggest an appropriate approach

Has anyone else had experience with this type of integration? Any information on the approach used, time allocated and potential pitfalls would be great.
