hi all,
my right column blocks falls below the page under the left column and sometimes my main content (on pages with no right column) even falls below the left column when I browse my site using my work computer which is the regular Dell Latitude laptop with Internet Explorer Version 6.0.
When I use FireFox on my own Mac laptop everything looks good. I was first not worried about the display but since major companies with over 100,000 employees most likely use the same laptops with the same old version of IE installed I am a bit concerned about my sites appearance.
I am not having difficulty with my other sites which use different themes!
My question is:
1. Since Marinelli Theme comes with the Drupal installation package shouldnt it be a more advanced template with less flaws?
2. Should I change the template to correct its appearance? Or should I not worry about it cause few people are using IE 6.0 and IE will be updated sooner or later. (I currently like the design of the site and prefer not having to change the theme)
thanks in advance,
DP

Marinelli doesn't come with Drupal
Are you thinking of Minelli? Marinelli is a custom theme which I use quite often.
Either way, have you changed the widths of any of the sidebars or content? Sounds like one of the boxes is too wide, so it's dropping the box down. I'd start by checking there.
Yes.You may be right. Ill
Yes.
You may be right. Ill have to take a look at it later although I dont remember every change I made. Ill try to fix it this weekend and will let you know how it goes.
I will say that my World Clock Block firstly shows the wrong year...1910 instead of 2010
also the wrong format for the year cause it should only show 2 digits such as '10' instead of 2010. It works fine on other browsers but not my work laptop using IE older version.
This block has made the left column a bit wider than usual!
Date & Time
Country 01/22/1910 03:03 PM
You could make some margin changes
I would poke around in css then, and maybe see if some slight changes to left and right margins might help. It is nice being able to test it on an older version of IE to see if you have issues. Usually I don't know until someone gets in touch to tell me.
Funny how it's showing 1910.
Yes, So I fixed the
Yes, So I fixed the problem.
Page and Utilities width was off by 10px. So I set Utilities back to 970px instead of the previous 980 I had changed to.
In my layout rsidebar I had accidently set width to 1800 instead of 180px.
After correcting these two I had thought I had it. But it still didnt work. So I removed the World Clock block and finally got it to work!!
So now I know it wasnt ONLY the world clock expanding the left column because before I added the clock I had the same issue.
anyway, thanks guys as always for your feedback :)
enjoy the weekend,
