Pull XML from the App store

I know that it is possible to pull (scrape) data from the app store using PERL scripts etc... but is it possible to pull that data into my Drupal database, parse it and spit it out into nodes? Are there any modules that can accomplish this at all. Or maybe even something similar that could possibly be adapted?

Any ideas anybody?
