Hello all,
I recently moved my Drupal 4.7.2 installation from a temporary server to our permanent server, and am having some issues.
I restore the db, and set the proper settings in the config file, and the site loads up. However, I cannot create content, or make site changes, the changes are not saved.
I can log in as admin, and when I do, I do notice that a session is created and logged by Drupal. However, earlier I was having an issue with not having LOCK TABLE permissions, which has since been fixed by my hosting provider.
My log shows no errors, but no content can be added as I have already mentioned. I am going to contact my host again and make sure that I have UPDATE permission (which should be the case, obviously), but is there anything that I am missing?
As another example, if I set my site to offline, it doesn't save the changes either, and stays online, so if I want it to stay offline I have to set my test site to be offline (where the changes actually 'take') and then restore that DB.
Anyway, any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Still waiting on the hosting
Still waiting on the hosting provider to double check db access, I asked for full access over the db, any other ideas though? Or, am I on the right track?
Thanks
So, I didn't have update
So, I didn't have update permission on the server, that has been rectified.
They checked and I do have lock table permission, update, insert, select, and alter.
Does anyone know why I cannot log in, create content, or do anything else that would require db access?
Since I cannot log in, I can't get into the admin panel to check for errors.
Also, I also checked to make
Also,
I also checked to make sure it wasn't something with my export/import of the db.
So, I exported the db of the server that isn't working, and imported to the server that is, and still the test server works great.
So, am I forgetting about a permission of mysql?
I am sire straits here, and could REALLY use some help!
P.S. I also did this so I could get into the admin panel, to check for errors, none.
Thanks
Perhaps it is a PHP
Perhaps it is a PHP issue?
Anyway, the first link displays the PHP setup for the server that works.

Anyone?
Sorry, does ANYONE have any idea what the problem could be?
I have been searching the forums, with no luck.
I am THIS close to losing it, and going on a murderous rampage.
Thanks
For kicks, I ran a new
For kicks, I ran a new installation, to see if I could find anything obvious as far as problems go.
The base installation ran, but of course when I try to create the first account, the information is not saved to the db, so it is the same problem.
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY I CANNOT GET DRUPAL TO WRITE TO THE DB?
similar problem - what is the matter with this community?
hi, i got a similar problem, can add nodes but can´t save settings. i change default site-name ("drupal") to my preferred one ("Eistanz") - drupal doesn t save settings. i am using drupal 4.7.4 and it´s run on a subdirectory of my domain and another domain is pointing to that subdirectory (could that matter?): the directory is ...
politiktraining.at/eistanzen
the domain http://eistanzen.at is pointing to politiktraining.at/eistanzen
as i said - no problem with adding nodes. i also added a new user by using "register". it was odd though that when logging out the name of admin ("webmaster") was written in the field of user login - usually this field would be empty after logging out.
ps: what is the matter witz this community. cjeanson did not get an answer since june?
