I've enabled your module in fieldgroup category for my profile content type using content profile module and from node view and clicking the pencil icon, modal frame opens with blank field values even though these fields are populated in the database.

Does it work for you on a non-profile content type?

hmmm... yeah it sure does. Where it was having issues, i'm using panels so I tested it in panels and it appears to work fine also. I guess something related to the content profile module. I'll have to play around with it some more and see if i can figure it out.

By the way, how would I go about resizing the modal window smaller to just show my fields and not alot of empty space? Is there a way via css or something?

Well it appears theres a funky way content profile relates to user profile that prohibits editing as a node. Even I go to content and click edit from one of the created profiles, the fields are blank so your module has nothing to do with this.
