Hi
Is there a way where you can remove the HTML tag <br> but not the HTML tag <br /> ?
The users are copy/past some text with the <br> in it and I would like to filter it out but still use the linebreak!

Can you be more specific? Is this in messaging or in posting nodes/comments? I think what you want to do here is to go to http://example.com/admin/settings/filters/1/configure and adjust what html tags you want users to be able to use. In general admin >> site configuration >> input formats is your home base for this kind of control.
