Hi
I've made a D7 version from the latest code I could find. It seems no longer to cause errors, but the logic creating the personal outlining does not work. It should still provide a D7 working base to debug on, though.

marcp commented@fgm - There have been a lot of commits in the last few days. I'm wondering whether you'd be interested in re-rolling this.
I'm getting ready to branch to 6.x-2.x also, which will allow us to remove a whole bunch of code that shouldn't need to get ported -- all the code dealing with making node titles un-editable during personal outlining is going to go away in the 2.x branch.

davidzz commentedNow that Beta 2 is released, any plans for a D7 Port?
Also, subscribing.

jgraham commentedI'm currently bringing the 6.x branch up to date relative to the known bugs and feature requests. Once this update stabilizes and I have available time I will be starting on a D7 port.

marvix commentedany update ?!?

jgraham commentedCore book suffers from some poor architectural decisions which result in poor user experience and erratic behavior. This has resulted in book_manager being unnecessarily complex to meet the use case(s) it covers.
We will be looking to take a different approach in D7 as building on top of core book provides very little, if any benefit from our perspective.

Frogtown commentedSo there hasn't been anything posted for about 9 months or so. Is there absolutely no plan to port to D7 - unfortunately for me personal books are a huge part of a Subject Guide module I built for our librarians here, so they could own their own guides - however, now porting the site to D7 and this is the last real big obstacle, since we've got several hundred books owned by different librarians. I am attempting my own D7 patch, but is this module no longer maintained or has no plans for a port at all?
If not, does anyone have any alternative methods for restricting books solely to their owners? Have been searching around and not finding much, trying to avoid having to build yet another custom module.
Thanks for any reply :)

jgraham commentedHi All, we are no longer going to maintain this module and will not be porting it to drupal 7. Most of these reasons are outlined in comment 7, but there are other additional reasons why a different solution in drupal 7 is appropriate from our perspective.
Correspondingly I have updated the project status to "Seeking new maintainer" and "no further development." If you are interested in becoming the maintainer for the module please post an issue to the issue queue.
