I've been using ad module version 6.x-1.1 for about a year without a hitch. On Tuesday I updated to version 6.x-2.2. Users can still create image ads, but the Destination URL field doesn't seem to be saving and the ad doesn't display. I can go in myself as an administrator and enter the destination URL, save the ad without seeing any error messages, but the destination URL field is still blank. Neither the image nor the destination URL is displaying in the ad's View page, and if I try to edit the ad again, the destination URL field is blank.
I rolled back to the previous version to see if that would fix the error, and I am still having the same problem. Ads that were created before the update still work correctly, but the newly created ads do not.
Might be worth noting that most of the destination URLs for these image ads are internal, and I have turned off the Validate URL preference.
Any help you could offer me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, and thanks for the great module.

ebracken commentedUpdate: Advertisements created using the older version of the module appear to be working as normal, so we're just going to stick with the rollback. Still, it would be nice to use some of those newer features.
If you feel that this is still worth looking into, I'd be happy to provide any more information that would help you diagnose the problem. Otherwise, I'm all set.
Thanks again.

granttoth commentedI am having the exact same problem. Did you roll back to 5.x or a previous 6.x version of the module? If so do you know where I can download a previous 6.x version.
As a workaround I am displaying my image ads as HTML ads. I create a use the file attache form to host the ad then display it with the img and a tags respectively.

granttoth commentedebracken, are you using RSS remote enclosures?
I just discovered that adding the url to the RSS remote enclosure url field and adding a random file size will fix the problem. So have two urls total. I checked my RSS Remote enclosure settings and they are not set to display on the advertisement content type but I think because I am logged in as the admin it is ignoring the permissions. I'll post this under the RSS Remote Enclosure page.

Steel Rat commentedWow, this issue has been open for two years? I'm having the same problem, just installed the module, after an upgrade from Dupal 5. I had some old ads which were still recognized by the new ad module, but none of them display in the block. And the destination URL does not save.

lrwebks commentedDrupal 6 is EOL and no longer supported. Closing this as outdated for that reason. Thanks for your contribution!
