it would be great to have rules integration. It seems to be missing in all affiliate/referral type modules.

Something that exposed a users affiliate/referrer, so that further actions can be done.

Simply by exposing that value to rules, it would be possible to assign points to an affiliate, send e-mails, notifications, alter nodes, add further relationships, etc based on various triggers (visiting node, buying a product, etc)... you get the idea...

What do you think? hard implementation?
