Mentioned by kathleen on IRC - it would be more useful if variables that don't have a value are nonetheless properly exported as NULL rather than being omitted entirely.

It appears that variables that don't have a value ( null or empty string ) are exported rather than omitted ( at least as of 2.2 ). Can you give an example of where a variable does not have a value and thus is not exported? ( or has this been added since this issue was first posted? )
