Hi,

We would like to request that the PharmQD: A Community Website for Pharmacists be promoted to front page. The Forum post is at http://drupal.org/node/698056. I have included the images in the post as I have permission to upload these, but also attach them below as requested. I have tentatively scheduled this for front page.

We think it is important to showcase a Drupal medical site (perhaps this kind of site should be added to the Case Study section as a type as well) because this is a big industry that is increasingly using Drupal. We also had worked with a large number of modules, replicate Facebook-style Newsfeed functionality, tie into a number of databases like those to validate for CE courses, and much more to create what has been a very successful site live now for six months. The User Type registration modifications are something that is often in demand on professional sites, but Drupal offers no easy way to handle this and we describe our approach. There are also a number of privacy issues we had to confront.

are the images listed here the same ones as on the page itself?

And you wouldn't happen to want to link to the site, would you?

Yes, the same images and thanks for reminding me to link, will do so right away. Omar

In general, this case study is pretty good, but I have some concerns about the language used in the opening paragraph about how "the medical professions are littered with unsuccessful and half-baked community websites". Case studies that get promoted to the home page of drupal.org should be positive in tone, and while I think it's a valid point that these sites can cost tens of millions of dollars to build, I think the entire first two paragraphs need to be re-worked to make this point in a more concise and less potentially inflammatory manner. The point here should be that Drupal allowed you to build a successful site that might otherwise have cost a lot more money at a fraction of that cost.

I've turned off Full HTML for now to allow you to re-word the introduction; if you need additional help with the language, I can make some edits as well.

Points well taken and changes made to first two paras as requested.

I've made a couple of additional tweaks to remove the reference to Sermo and to identify ISL Consulting as the developers in the lead. Full HTML is turned back on, and this is ready for review by other site maintainers.

Would any other site maintainers like to weigh in whether this case study should be put on the home page promotion schedule?

I'm giving this a +1 as well, and have added it to the schedule for promotion next Thursday.
