Recently for my site www.starcraft2strategyportal.com, I needed to do this, as I will have users creating strategy posts that need images (for beautification).

Watch this tutorial video from Mustard Seed that covers how to use the Insert, Image Resize Filter, WYSIWYG, and TinyMCE modules to achieve this effect.

I created a file field (image) called "Image Insert" that I put beneath the body field of every node in which I want image handling for users.

It's slick and easy! Hope this helps!
