webchickHm. I'm not sure about this. Maybe if Bartik comes together extremely quickly, has no follow-up bugs whatsoever, and we have loads of time just sitting around twiddling our thumbs. Otherwise, this seems like a fine thing to add as a nice extra in Drupal 8.

jensimmons commentedJust to clarify the note above, Bartik doesn't have any max-width on it. The only constraint is how huge or not people's monitors are. Most people browse at 1000-ish or 1200-ish wide. Some of us use 1400 or more. It's a trick to figure out, how to have a way for people to upload images, when in this theme (Bartik) the page can be as wide as someone's monitor.

jacineOops! Misunderstood that one. Thanks Jen :D

webchickLet's upgrade this to a formal feature request for a general "header image upload tool" and place it firmly in Drupal 8's camp.

Jeff Burnz commentedNote that the upshot of this resulted in http://drupal.org/project/noggin

joelpittetWe didn't get around to this in the 8.0 cycle but maybe it can make it into 8.1.x feature release if it gets some eyeballs on it.
Triaging theme system issues since we are in RC.

smustgrave commentedThank you for sharing your idea for improving Drupal.
We are working to decide if this proposal meets the Criteria for evaluating proposed changes. There hasn't been any discussion here for over 8 years which suggests that this has either been implemented or there is no community support. Your thoughts on this will allow a decision to be made.
Since we need more information to move forward with this issue, the status is now Postponed (maintainer needs more info). If we don't receive additional information to help with the issue, it may be closed after three months.
Thanks!

smustgrave commentedThis seems like a theme feature that may not covers most use cases. Think this functionality should be in a contrib or custom.
