so far so good..,,,,, now trying to create a picture gallery upload images and display.... so much unfo here and so many different ways of doing this. being a newbie, which wouldanyone recommend as the easiest way to do create a picture gallery?..... many thanks. (using xammp on local machine for testing)

Try out the Image Module first. It comes packaged with an Image type for storing individual pictures and an Image Gallery type for organizing pictures together. Works pretty well out of the box without alot of tweaking.

If that doesn't meet your needs, then try AcidFree or Gallery, both of which provide more features but also require more fiddling.

I'm using the image module and just recently set up galleries here . . .

Try the easy route first before attempting something like Gallery2.
