missing users profile topic list

Hi all

Just went to install APK, ctools, content profile, author pane on my live website. I used Michelle's setup page here: http://drupal.org/node/517182
I didnt add anything extra or mess around with codes, I went through the guide exactly as it says.

I did the setup initially on my test website and worked great and it picked up the users created topic list just underneath the title subject. I did the exact same with my live website and the topic list that the users created are blank. I did the whole setup again by unchecking the related modules listed on the michelle's guide like APK, panels, ctools, content profile and deleting the files on my website via FTP. then I uploaded the files again and made sure I selected the right modules. and unfortunately, APK still didnt pick up any of users uploaded files.

The best I could do was create a new panel in pages/user_view > edit > edit content > add content > select views > APK_USER_TOPIC > content-pane > check box to link to title > done

problem with this is, even if you created thumbnails on that view you cant see it under topics list. hence, you have to click the title to see all of the topic list.

what the best method of starting from scratch?
I am using drupal 6.13 on my live website
and on my test site its drupal 6.6

Any help will be great.
