Issue Summary
Maintainers,
I'm curious about the roadmap for this module. The project page mentions that a 6.x-2.x version is in the making. What features or improvements are likely to be expected in that version? What is the current state of development on that version?
EPublish accomplishes much of what I am looking for, and I might be using it for a project soon. If I do use it, I'll likely contribute where I find some needed improvements. A few useful features/improvements I've noticed or saw already posted on the issue queue: Views integration to manually choose or automatically choose headlines for an edition, improving the associated EPublish_email module with scheduling abilities, (maybe integration with the simpleNews module?).
I'm also curious why this project has the three additional modules? It seems that all three of those modules could be easily bundled into this one.
Thanks for your work on this module and your future response to my many questions!

I'd be very interested in knowing the answers to these questions too! The Views part especially. I did install the E-Publish Views Filter module, but it doesn't really fully connect E-Publish with Views.
It would be really great to be able to have the E-Publish issue number show up as a field in Views, so that you could create a view of all articles in a particular section, and have it show what issue each of them appeared in. Right now, as far as I can tell, the only way I'm going to be able to do that is to create a taxonomy vocabulary that duplicates the list of issues - which almost defeats the purpose of using the module at all!
It would also be great if the new version maybe dealt with some of the things I raised in the issue I posted back in September (#577892: E-Publish breadcrumb questions), which I don't think ever got any replies. Maybe having it be compatible with Custom Breadcrumb would help with things like that? Actually, I think that's largely a matter of it working with Token, since Custom Breadcrumb seems to mainly work via Token.
I suppose both the above could be combined into one wish: make E-Publish play a little more nicely with other commonly-used modules!
BTW, if there is anything I can do to help with any of this, please feel free to let me know. I don't have any real Drupal module development experience, but I'm comfortable with PHP and have built a ton of Drupal sites, so I'd probably pick it up pretty quickly.

In 1.6 I've added some basic views support, at least editions and articles. More to come.
I agree that it's probably a good idea to pull in some of the side modules to the main one, that will probably happen in the future.

I'm going to close this because the views integration is in, and we can reopen more specific views tasks if anyone wants to.
