We have FAQ installed on two sites. In one, the permissions act as they should. In the other they do not. All authenticated users can create an FAQ node even though the permissions say they shouldn't. It is very strange. We have one access control related module running (OG_CTA) but when we uninstall that, it still doesnt work so we assume OG_CTA is not the problem.
Also, while testing this, we had two computers running FF logged in as the same user. One screen showed "Submit FAQ" and the other "Create FAQ" (see attached screen shots)
Any ideas?

stella commentedAre you using the FAQ Ask module at all? If so, I'd imagine that is the source of the problem and that this issue should be moved to that queue.
idcm commentedNo, we got rid of that problem ;-)

stella commentedI'm not sure what the problem is. I'd suggest rebuilding the site permissions at admin/content/node-settings each time you enable/disable an access control module.
If you're still having problems I would probably need access to the site to investigate further.

idcm commentednope, didnt work. it is the strangest thing. if you have the time, i would be happy to email our module list to see if any stick out as possible conflicts.

stella commentedThe image is from the 'Submit FAQ' site, right?
Nothing is really jumping out at me. I'm unfamiliar with the 'module grants' module, and maybe it's affecting something, as it does seem to be another access module. I'm not sure I can help further without access to a site where this is happening. Perhaps you should try disabling modules one by one to see if you can narrow it down - if disabling/enabling access control modules, don't forget to rebuild the permissions.

idcm commentedok, thanks for trying. we will give the old "trial and error" approach a go.
idcm commentedWe looked at module grants module and based on its description, it is a reasonable guess that it might be the problem. BUT we need module grants for our revisioning process and the heart ache to undo revisioning to then undo module grants is not a pain we want to endure right now.
We will probably test it in the future on another site.
