Issue Summary
Follow-up from #684846-23: AJAX triggered by non-submit element fails if any elements are validated
I'm really not sure what the protocol for this is, I very much appreciate the thought, I won't be offended if the community decides otherwise, and if doing this signs me up for any responsibilities, I'd like to know what those are.

+1 from me.

Cross-linking #621618: Revamp MAINTAINERS.txt
+1 from me as well. You've shown a great dedication as well as creative and solid solutions.
We currently have no clear "responsibilities" for being a Drupal core sub-system maintainer. As of now, all we know that sub-system maintainers have something like a "bat-phone" to webchick/Dries if they need one. But even with that, we are not sure what that means - and having such a thing is not even remotely related to "responsibilities". We want to change this entire situation for D8.

Yes the main responsibility is getting pinged by people in irc about FAPI. +1 from me. I'd add effulgentsia to the theme system maintainers too if I had my way.
