Why do you think this is important?

I would think that a javascript function to fill all to/from fields with the address you just typed would be more useful.

Here is an example:
You want to allow a user to easily choose from a list of major attractions or locations near their home zip code.

I agree that the case you mentioned is also useful and would love that as well.

Yes but in that case you could use the GMap module and Views to expose filters and allow users to input their own zip code.
