Try in body field any node type write some xml, as example:

here xml code, but i also can't see it :), but it present

and you never see this code in node vew page. Why it's?
Because drupal must convert some html tags in html entities.
So how i can add in node body xml code and see it.\

use the code filter module and wrap your xml code in < code>
