I am planning to create a community site and would like to use Drupal. I looked over the requirements and do not have PHP or mySQL installed on my computer. I have downloaded them but am unable to get mySQL to work. Do you provide any help there or do I need to go to the mySQL web site? I would really love to use your product because it has all of the features I need. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Dahn

Unless you plan to run the site from your computer, why not just find a hosting company that already has php and mySql and install Drupal there.

We actually have a hosting server here, but neither has PHP or mySQL installed.

Which OS are you trying to install on?
If you are using OS X, you could try MAMP for a local environment that will allow you to test Drupal.
I think there are similar options for windows.

Again, why not use a hosting company that will offer you Apache and MySQL (and might even offer you Drupal) already working for little money?

I'm using Windows 2000.

I'd love to get a host that already has those products installed but it's really not my call. I work for a newspaper and we have our own server so they won't want to pay to host somewhere else. I'll just have to figure out how to get it all working on the server. If I can't, I'll have to use another product which sucks because Drupal seems to have everything I need!

You can try XAMPP.

XAMPP is an easy to install Apache distribution containing MySQL, PHP and Perl. XAMPP is really very easy to install and to use - just download, extract and start.
