The integration is fairly easy as Transliteration module provides a nice function for it described in its readme.txt.

Feel free to test this patch file.

I just tried the patch and it works perfectly. It is a good improvement for use.

I wish you knew how many hours i spen looking for this exact solution of redirecting taxonomy links from nodes and views display to a desired detination.
