I need to make a gallery for an artist to showcase their work. However the "gallery" needs to do more than just show the image....it also needs to have the picture title, a description and a link to another site. I am wondering the best way to do this. Should I just created a content type that allows image uploads (1 picture) and some CCK fields, then use taxonomy to organize the nodes into different galleries....than use views to create a carousel of the images that the user can click on for the rest of the information.

Or is there another option. My main concern is to make it easy for the artist themself to upload the picture and the details and have it fold easily into the site.

That is how I would do it. There is a good video on a good gallery concept. it uses views and some other modules.
