Hi,
after trying the 1.44-Version for a while, I'd like to add a few findings. I'll put them together in one letter for convenience. I think they're almost all of the 'take the elefant out of the refrigerator before you put in the giraffe'-type, so I hope they are not a big deal, mostly cosmetical. I have no idea of programming, so I can't offer any patches.
- the play-time-display both in the footer of the node and in the edit-page magically gets longer and longer, I'm at 10 hours presently for a video of 5 minutes, I expect it to be several days in a few minutes :-)
- for me thumbnail upload doesn't work at all. No image is uploaded. I have the image-module installed. (maybe problem with multisite? see below)
- Play counter remains at 0
- Interplay with the internationalization-module: if I change the language of a video-node, the video-link (for the actual file and for the RSS-Feed) do not get updated. e.g. http://mysite/de/system/videos/xxx.mov does not become http://mysite/id/system....
- in the edit-page I cannot colapse the playtime-box in the edit page
After uploading a file I found that the module had expanded the path to the file to a virtual URL I hadn't even known before existed: http://mysite/system/files/videos/video.mov. In a multisite-context this URL (with the addition 'system') is actually quite handy. In the past I hadn't found an alternative to writing http://mysite.com/sites/mysite.com/files/videos/videoname.mov, which is a lot more clumsy. I wonder how many people know about this option. This logic does actually work for relative links too, which I prefer: system/files/videos/myvideo.mov, whereas - at least in a multisite-environment - the standare files/videos/myvideo.mov does not work, at least not for me. Might be usefull if this "system"-path were documented.
As far as I can see it is not possible to use the same path-logic for the multiple-download-folder. And as to the thumbnail - well, I can't test as it doesn't work at all for me - but maybe there is a relation?
Best
