It would be great if the subscriber could choose to receive one email by node per day. I'm getting a lot of complains because some posts have 200 comments and they're receiving a new email for each comment...

I agree this is a problem. What about #436452: Only send one notification until a user visits the node again as an alternate solution?

I think #436452: Only send one notification until a user visits the node again is a quality solution to the problem.

Marked issue as duplicate of #436452 as similar functionality is achieved in #436452 but with lighter-weight and arguably better UX.
