Allow users to enable auto translation on a content type level

No way of doing this at this time. Will leave open as a feature request, like you say.

You can do adding a condition to the rule which handles auto translations.

You need to enable the Rules UI - I don't think it is enabled by default, but it will be there at admin/build/modules

I'm not sure, but I think in enabling my Rules UI and experimenting, I may have accidentally deleted my translation rule. Is this possible, and if so, is there any way someone can export-paste it to a message? How about a rule to re-translate a node if a field_force_translate is true?

I think if you mess up the auto-translate rule, just delete auto-translate rule and it is will load back the default auto-translate. As for adding a CCK translate option to auto-translate or re-translate nodes should be possible but i haven't out yet.

Can you please start a new issue for other stuff. Helps keep issues on track. This is supposed to be the issue where we ultimately post a patch for enabling auto-translation by content type. It's not supposed to be a support thread. Feel free to raise a separate Support Request issue in the queue. Thanks! =)
