Hi,
I had posted this as a support request in Views but didn't receive a response so I thought I'd ask here.
I am trying to add a feature for our users where block content would be customized based on items they select in their account but haven't been able to figure out how to go about it. As an example, if I have a category named Business with 10 or so sub categories. I would like to have a section in the user account where a user could select, using checkboxes, which sub categories they are interested in.
I would like then to be able to pull this category information in when building blocks for "new articles," "popular articles," etc. so the user only sees articles that are relevant to his or her preferences.
I've looked at the MySite style modules but I would like to use standard blocks that would integrate into the UI of our home and category pages so was thinking Views might be the way to go.
Could anyone give me some advice or point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
Rob

I would think you could do this with the flag and views modules -- flag for users to indicate what they want to follow, and views to listed items flagged.
Thanks, I hadn't thought
Thanks, I hadn't thought about using Flag, I'll have a look.

Flag approach?
Hello Rob,
Were you able to implement your solution with Flag and Views? I am interested in a solution just like yours. Can you please let us know how you went about solving your problem. Thanks.
