Issue Summary
When I tick a filter "HTML-filter" or "URL-Filter" and then save it, it does not take it,. Going back shows that the tick is not set.
I tried to configure the filter but this says to me that there are not settings available.
What should I do to get this working?

Honestly, my recommendation is to switch to Better Formats. This module is only still around for Drupal 5 compatibility.

Chellman,
This was a good suggestion. Unfortunately it does not solve the problem. This must be something earlier in the process. Basically I still cannot choose the filter. Tagging it does not work, as it untags upon saving.
"Filters
Choose the filters that will be used in this filter format.

If you uninstall Filter Default, does it work again?

Filter Default was not installed. I installed it, but there does not seem to be any change in the behaviour.
What is wrong?

I'm not sure what the issue is. This area is just for issues with the filter_default module, though, so you're not going to get very far asking here.
Start a thread over in the main forum, and provide more details (exactly what version of Drupal you have, what web browser you're using, what other modules that interact with input formats and filters that you have installed), and someone might be able to help you track it down.

Thanks for the suggestion. This is what I just did. Thank you for the input on the two modules that will be helpful once I get the filter problem solved.
