http://drupal.org/contribute/development

(this came out of an IRC discussion with webchick and others)

This page is way out of date and doesn't really describe how to get involved with development of Drupal.

a) We need to describe the current process for getting involved in core development, pointing to other pages that describe in more detail:
- Test new Drupal versions
- File issues
- Patch issues - to get your patches reviewed, get on IRC #drupal-contribute and offer to swap patch reviews
- Review issues

b) We need a list of who is experts on the various Drupal core sections - derived from MAINTAINERS.txt and expanding on it, maybe allowing each area to have more members and describing how best to contact those folks

c) We need to have people who are committed to watching the issue queues. The core section matainers need to watch their component's issue queue, but there might also be some general "issue queue farmers", and maybe those should be listed on the maintainers page too?

d) Say something about how important it is to get on IRC because we're a fairly friendly bunch of folks who like to help get new people involved, and that we welcome new folks, etc.

e) How to contribute a small/medium/large amount of time

f) How to contribute if you are interested in certain things

g) How to contribute if you know about certain things

This page has been moved into the getting-involved book and input format has been set to documentation.

Let me know if you still have problems updating it and/or adding children pages.
