problem installing mySQL 5.1

Hi John,
I am now installing all the required application for the drupal. But I am stack with the mysql installation. When I hit the execute button from "mysql instance configuration wizard" the window is hang. I have tried to re-install and install the mysql, also tried to remove the instance and re-configure but still the window is hang. Any advice?
