The tabs that would normally display "Dashboard, Content, Building, Configuration, etc..." are not showing up. Its confusing, the theme works on my pc testbed, but when I put it on a live site it broke.

All I did was upload the theme and enable it as the administrative theme.

Do you have css and js caching enabled?
Is the site live so I can check what might be the problem?

Caching is enabled, but I have cleared it.

The site is "http://www.couchathletics.com", but you wont see this theme as it is only viewable by admins.

I'm having this problem too. Not for the super user (uid 1), but for users who are in the "Admin Role" created by the Admin Role module http://drupal.org/project/adminrole

The permissions page looks right (all boxes checked for the admin role).

I'm guessing your problems are the same because this will happen unless you go to '/admin/build/themes/settings/rootcandy' and expand the navigation fieldset near the bottom. There you can check out "Menu by role and weights" to setup your menus. Make sure your admin role also uses the default navigation menu or assign a different menu to that role. Also, in genDisarray's case it could be that the "Super user (uid 1) menu" is setup wrong, but I'm pretty sure you have the same issue. :)
