out of curiosity, what is your proposed solution to this? In most cases the customer should not be able to buy a product without selecting a attribute option(what good is a tshirt without a size). If no options are available, and you have dependent attributes, it seems that you would remove the add to cart option entirely.

this should be closed. when I first entered this i misunderstood what "active" was for. At the time I thought active was for flagging if the option is available. But now I realize it is for enabling stock tracking
