etechba.com is website of TechBA office in Silicon Valley, Ca. This is a program by the Ministry of Economics in Mexico, operated by FUMEC. TechBA work with Mexican companies developing innovative technologies, products and services to global markets, providing an environment for international business.
This site requeried some changes in order to improve the number of visitors and business contacts. It was needed new settings in the structure as in the design, allowing a better browsers and more efficient results in searchers.
Structure
To modify the site´s structure, the previous portfolio structure, with company listing, was changed to a thematic structure in which the companies, news, and other contents are divided by field of business, for example: software, call center or biotechnology industries. New home pages regarding each topic were created making easier to attach incoming information.
Design
The former site functioned on Drupal using a generic theme. By designing an customized a theme, was generated more identity with a layout working in accordance to the structure changes. New design has the advantage of a wider horizontal area , trying to reduce larger pages. This design applies blue tones base on the blue in the logotype, avoiding to many contrasts.
It was used elasticss as a css framework, making easier the development of the modules' pattern.
Various modules were used:
Panels - to create the layout of the homepage and section pages and categories
CCK - post images and videos;
Views - generate lists and blocks;
Nodewords - generate metatags;
Wysiwyg - to edit text in the nodes
Nice Menus - for a horizontal sub menu; and
Email Download - to allow download PDF entering your email address.
