The Free version of Simpleviewer 2 seems to drop right in, with no problems.

The Pro version works fairly well, the main issue I have found is that the text color is always white and the frame color only applies to the main image, and not the thumbnails. New variables have been added for them in Pro 2.

SV 2 Pro has a huge array of variables compared to the previous versions. Perhaps rather than try to support them all, a dialog could be added to paste in XML, and let svBuilder handle all the variables?

I just posted a patch that attempts to allow arbitrary XML and HTML options to be passed to simpleviewer via the module options: #728664: Allow arbitrary XML and HTML options to be added via interface options ... perhaps such a concept would help in your case?

I suppose it would be worth having a general discussion related to supporting SV 2. Does that exist already?

As Scott noted, SV 2 free seems to drop in pretty easily. The only significant change that I needed to apply was to change the name of the SV 2 .swf from "simpleviewer.swf" to "viewer.swf" (it looks like the flash gallery module looks for viewer.swf). It also looks like several XML options names have changed with SV 2 (thumbnailColumns has become thumbColumns, etc.), but it appears that SV 2 will still recognize the old SV 1 option names... so the Flash Gallery code works fine for the most part.

I've only just started to experiment with this module, so I'm sure that other SV 2 compatibility options will popup, I'm just curious if other people have any comments or if there are specific plans to add special SV 2 support.

Not sure the best place to post this, but i added some configurations to the module for SimpleViewer v2.0.3

enable/disable the full screen button (also makes the full screen button work)
enable/disable the open in new window button

maybe this will be useful to someone wanting version 2 that want to be able to use full screen or disable these features.

Nice.... in fact those are the exact 2 things I am currently using my "ad hoc" patch (#728664: Allow arbitrary XML and HTML options to be added via interface options) for.

To set the XML:
showOpenButton = "FALSE"

and the embed parameter:
fo.addParam("allowfullscreen", "TRUE");

Having them as dedicated options right in the module is even better!

Yeah, I actually saw this post after I had already added it in the module, but thats a great patch too, to be able to add any options in the future as versions change, but is maybe more for advanced users. The full screen options are not really intuitive, those probably would be good options to hard code if there is going to be a released aimed at version 2. Great module though, I love it, and it was very easy to implement and even make the small changes.
