Any opinions on TrollPlanet.com? I've yet to submit it to Google because it still needs a bit of work. Does it render okay in your browser?

FWIW, it looks fine in FireFox 1.5 on WinXP.

(And your post about PHP being pregnant nearly had me falling off my chair. I printed up copies to show the other programmers here. :-)

When asking for a review, it is best to put a link so a reviewer can just click to go to the site. Even pasting the url in would do it, like so. http://www.trollplanet.com/

Otherwise, the site renders okay for me (FF 1.5, Windows).

Good luck with that whole outranking Google thing. You really have your work cut out for you.

Did you consider how often someone has to type "google" into Google? They're already there at the site, why do they need to search for it? </silly-question>

Thanks dmuth, it's encouraging that somebody finds it funny!

Thanks for the advice coreb, I was kicking myself for not typing the full url as Google might pick up on it and use it to improve rankings to my site.

Take everything you find on http://www.trollplanet.com with a pinch of salt. I guess I'll miss the mark sometimes with my 'humor'...it'll be interesting to see how different people across the world react to the articles.

Don't kick yourself over that :D - Drupal uses rel=nofollow attributes on all (most?) user-entered links. Due to the explosion of comment spam over the last few years, Google (and most other search engines) ignore links with that attribute in calculating page ranking.

(If you view the HTML source for this page, you'll see that all user-entered links have rel="nofollow" attributes, which are added automatically by the input filter when I created my reply. Thus, when google indexes this page, those links do nothing to add to the referenced site's ranking.)

It is very funny, and also a great theme design. Very practical methinks and so would be popular. Is it something you can share?

Cheers, Neil.

Yes, I'll release the design but it won't be for a few months yet. There are a lot of 'hard coded' extras in my page.tpl.php file so it isn't suitable for everybodies needs.

I'll probably write a 'using templates/snippets' type article at http://www.trollplanet.com/drupal to explain how to use it.

I like the layout of the front page. Nice site!
