venkat-rk commentedMay be this is the taxonomy term data showing up? I remember reading somewhere that the one with the asterisk is the category of category module.
Is there a case here for showing only the categories generated by the module? Is it possible to exclude the taxonomy term data? Just as when you install the taxonomy wrapper, the taxonomy module's link in the admin menu titled 'categories' vanishes and there is only one 'categories' link?

marcoBauli commentednope, that is nothing concerning taxonomy, it is a feature in the logic of Category module.
Programmes means setting the "Programmes" container ONLY as distant parent.
Programmes* means you can then set also ANY or ALL of the "Programmes" children as distant parent.
Actually this could be the solution to your other issue!
If you want your three child containers to be distant parents, you need to select Programmes* if i don't remember bad. Try playing a bit with it..

venkat-rk commentedHey, that's a very useful tip! Thanks for sharing.
Actually, I selected only the containers marked with the * but it didn't work. Let me try again, though.
