Issue Summary
Is it possible for the Default URL to accept tokens (eg the image name) so the field becomes something like:
http://localhost/614startu04/sites/default/files/[filename]
for example
http://localhost/614startu04/sites/default/files/Koala.jpg
thus by default the image cache links to its original file BUT if you need it sometimes to link to an external url it easy to overide

Yeah, I have been wondering this as well.
I link my images to open in a new template and if the image file name was a token than I wouldn't have to put the filename in the link each time.
