I had planned on using the Ad module on my site but have been hearing good things about Open X and am now undecided which to use. I was wondering if anyone had already done the research into this and is willing to share your conclusions?
I used the OpenX module a while back and I was not entirely pleased since it seemed to generate a lot of data/db traffic. Caused an issue with the shared DB server so I moved to the Ad module. I have moved web hosts since then...
One advantage of the Drupal Ads module is that it does not require a separate install of OpenX. I also found OpenX a bit too much for my needs...
My needs are pretty simple. Selling a small amount of ad space to local businesses. I definitely don't want something that will slow the site down; I have enough trouble with that already. Sounds like the Ad module is the way to go then.
