I would like to generate aliases for users on my site based on their username. Under "User path settings", I entered users/[user-raw]. However, members get strange aliases. For example, a user on my site with the name "rp3groups565" gets the alias "users/jq2ykhgg6t" instead of "users/rp3groups565". Has anyone ran into this problem? I searched through the issues queue and tried a couple of the suggestions but none has worked for me. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

What other modules are you using on your site? This sounds like something that could be caused by email registration or one of several other modules.

Yes, I am using Email registration 5.x-1.3 and several other modules. Is there a way to figure out which of the modules is causing this?

Sure, disable them one by one and see if the problem remains.

Really, 5.x is getting pretty old and it's nearly time to upgrade to 6.x which is where all the best code lives at this point.
