This module is just what I was looking for, but there is one thing missing that would be extremely helpful.

I would like a profile field to be viewable in all roles, but only editable by one or two roles. Is that something you could add?

This is the exact functionality I am looking for. And indeed it appears that this is exactly what this module does. In my test only those in 'Contributing user' role can edit certain fields in their profile. But logging in as a user without those permissions and going to a contributing users account page, I can see the value of the fields.

Is this what you're seeing?
