Hi outhere,
we want to use the shop in good-old-Germany.
The Shop itself seems to be perfect for us. But we have 2 problems with Tax-Calculation and Tax-Handling on products.
Problem 1:
- in Germany we have different Tax-rates for different product-classes.
e.g. 16% for computers and 7% for books and food or 0%
tax-rates in 4.7 are just calculated by country, not per product
( you can't choose a tax-value when creating a product )
Problem 2:
- due to government-limitations all prices shown in a onlineshop
have to be with Tax. Product-Prices in 4.7 are w/o tax.
Someone know an additional module or fix for ecommerce-usage in Europe/germany?
Thanks for any help or ideas.

Why not just enter product
Why not just enter product price including VAT? What's how we at http://tontraeger-berlin.de will do it...

Tax-VAT-Problem
Thx for your reply. We had that idea too.
Problem is, that you need to have the Tax/VAT separately listed in the shopping-cart.
If you have only products with e.g. 16% VAT, that would be no big problem.
But when you have two or more different VAT (7%/16%/0% if you sell to other EU-Countries)
how to calculate that in the shopping-cart and invoice.
btw. about your website: it asks for username/pw
We had to hand-code some
We had to hand-code some adjustments (mostly using some small additional modules using the hooks provided by the ecommerce api and theming output), and for your problem from two months of working on that I would say that you need to code this yourself too. Tonträger isn't yet reliably working, for a preview look at haiku.tontraeger-berlin.de.

Tax, items bought from the US and shipped into France from China
I recently bought some products from New York and they were shipped to me in France from China where they were manufactured, I expected to pay 19.6% VAT on the goods when they arrived but I ended up paying close to 75% and couldn't get a reason why the percentage was so high, UPS delivered the goods.
I was hoping to start selling the product through my website http://french-holidays-aude.com (you can contact me through this website) but given the hike I got on the tax I sort of got priced out of the market or at least the potential profit is now very limited. Does anyone know why I might have ended up paying so much tax?
Thanks
