I would love to announce this today, if possible, but it needs LOTS of love which I am unfortunately unable to give today or tomorrow. :( Sorry about the last-minuteness of this, but work has been kicking my ass...

I've made an etherpad doc at http://etherpad.com/5wLGXLtPZg with the text of the announcement for easy collaboration. Is there any way some folks with some spare time this afternoon could jam on that? I would be really, *really* appreciative.

Well, since there's not much left of Feb. 22, and this was effectively already reviewed by the 6-8 people who helped out on it, I went ahead and published/prompted it. Hope that's cool, but I know people are chomping at the bit for this news to get out.
