Hi,
I tested this function by uncommented the line 187 of nodereference_url.module. I didn't found any bug.
I use all uptodate modules.
Because I didn't see any post about it, I created it.
May be this can help.

Ok I got It :
The autocomplete function get loose of data if you use an option like "change noderference while editing node".

If you don't use the patch in http://drupal.org/node/396818, autocomplete will be compatible.

Autocomplete is already working the CVS version of this module. It will be in the 1.4 version.
