it would be great to be able to click an "i found this helpful" link on every drupal.org node that would then influence site search rankings. i often find diamonds in the rough that i want to help others to find, but posting a comment is time consuming and doesn't help them find it in the first place.
sorry no idea how to code this...

It would likely require deep code in the search algorithm, among other things.
I've taken to appending links (with quotes) to good stuff as short comments in the handbook pages, and cross-referencing as much as poss.

I use google "search this site" by default anyway.
