I have created "profile" content type as "content profile". When I go to display fields settings, it says this is being handled by nd. The fields I have added to this type are not listed. Just fields from core profile (turned off) (email, username, picture,etc.). I have added a number of fields and groups, but they are not available. This is my second attempt at using this module suite, it looks great (and easy), but I am obvioulsy missing something. any help would be appreciated. Thak you.

swentel commentedhrm, do you also have UD installed - it seems that the object types are clashing with each other - We'll look at this pretty soon since we're ready to finish user displays completely.

swentel commentedOk ,great, but now I know what's going on. Moving this to the user displays module and changing title to reflect the problem.

swentel commentedOk, fixed this one by renaming 'profile' to 'ds_profile' as the type key of the object. Added some more explanation on the info page which states that if you are using a content type for the user profile, you can probably disable this module completely.
